Search Continues for Man in Brisbane River
A search and rescue operation is underway for a 23-year-old man who fell into the Brisbane River at Jindalee in the city's southwest. The incident occurred early Sunday morning during a social gathering with family and friends when the man, described as not a strong swimmer, slipped off a pontoon and was swept away by a strong current. Despite efforts from his companions to rescue him, he failed to resurface. Police, aided by drones and divers, along with marine rescue and SES teams, are scouring the river to locate him. Another man, in his 20s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with shoulder injuries after attempting to assist the missing individual. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the search continues.
