Man Charged with Murder in Domestic Stabbing

Ramon Joseph Rivas, 34, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Jessica Marie Tinoco, who was fatally stabbed during a domestic dispute in Simi Valley in front of her children. Authorities reported that the children fled the scene and called 911 after witnessing the attack. Rivas faces additional charges of child endangerment and has a history of serious felonies under California's Three Strikes Law. Tinoco was transported to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Rivas, who has been denied bail, had his arraignment postponed to October 30. The Ventura County District Attorney's Office is reminding the public that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, urging victims to seek help.
