Russian Intelligence Claims EU Fuels Unrest, Plans Maidan in Serbia

They allege that independent media outlets and NGOs, allegedly funded by EU money, are instrumental in influencing public opinion and mobilizing protests. Serbian journalists and media outlets named by the SVR have strongly rejected the accusations, emphasizing their professional coverage and condemning Russia's interference in Serbia's internal affairs. Opposition politicians in Serbia also refute claims of foreign orchestration, insisting the protests are a grassroots demand for freedom and accountability. Despite Russia's narrative, the Serbian public's patriotic sentiments, the Orthodox Church's influence, and historical memories of NATO bombings are cited as factors preventing a full-scale 'color revolution,' according to the SVR.
