Massachusetts Police Training Bypassed by Officers

The Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) has uncovered that some police officers have been bypassing required online training by exploiting technological loopholes to fast-forward through courses that should take hours. This misconduct involves approximately 70 officers across 11 departments, and the MPTC is collaborating with Acadis, the training platform provider, to prevent future occurrences. Those identified will now be mandated to retake the training in person and their names forwarded to the state's Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission. The online training system has been suspended while the issue is investigated further. The MPTC emphasizes the importance of these trainings, which include vital updates like new laws and operational guidelines, as essential for maintaining the integrity and professionalism of law enforcement.
