Elgin police, aided by Chaos Divers, have located a yellow 1980 Toyota Celica belonging to Karen Schepers in the Fox River, marking a breakthrough in her 42-year-old disappearance case. Schepers was last seen leaving a Carpentersville bar early on April 16, 1983, and her vehicle's disappearance has fueled decades of mystery. This discovery follows efforts by Elgin Police's cold case unit and a podcast to generate new leads. Although the vehicle has been identified, it is unclear if any human remains or additional evidence were found.
