UofL Health CEO Tom Miller steps down immediately
Tom Miller, the inaugural CEO of Louisville's UofL Health, has resigned effective immediately and plans to retire after a 50-year career in healthcare. Miller led the organization since 2019, overseeing its growth into a $2.7 billion health system and Louisville's third-largest employer. During his tenure, he managed significant projects, including a new outpatient hospital in Bullitt County and a $144 million expansion of the downtown hospital. Miller stated that his resignation was part of a planned succession strategy he worked on with the board for two years. The UofL Health Board expressed appreciation for Miller's leadership and indicated that an interim CEO will be appointed soon. No controversy or other reasons were given for his departure.
