Naomi Ackie in Talks for Clayface Scientist Role
Naomi Ackie is in early talks to join the cast of Clayface, an upcoming DCU horror film directed by James Watkins and starring Tom Rhys Harries as the titular villain. The film was originally written by Mike Flanagan, with Hossein Amini contributing later drafts. It is described as a psychological body horror thriller inspired by David Cronenberg’s The Fly. The story follows a rising actor whose face is disfigured by gangsters and who seeks an experimental procedure from a controversial scientist, with Ackie reportedly the top choice for this scientist role. Clayface is scheduled for theatrical release on September 11, 2026, and will be filmed in the UK with a mid-$40 million budget. The project is produced by James Gunn, Peter Safran, Matt Reeves, and Lynn Harris.
