Ford Unveils Mustang GTD at Detroit Auto Show

Ford Motor Company has unveiled the Mustang GTD Spirit of America, a special edition of its high-performance GTD model, at the Detroit Auto Show, celebrating 60 years of Mustang innovation. The Spirit of America edition features a Performance White body with Race Red and Lightning Blue stripes, paying homage to the original 1964 Mustang tribar logo and Craig Breedlove's historic speed records. Equipped with 815 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, the GTD model is the fastest street-legal Mustang to date, capable of reaching a top speed of 202 mph. The interior incorporates leather and Dinamica faux-suede with patriotic color accents, while the exterior includes exposed carbon fiber aerodynamic elements. Despite its hefty starting price of $325,000, Ford has not disclosed the pricing for this special edition. The company aims to revive excitement in the auto industry amid declining stock prices and competition from tech-focused events like CES.
