Everytown Alleges University of Louisville Student Fabricated Pennsylvania School Shooting Survival

Calvin Polachek, a former Dallas High School student and current University of Louisville graduate student, falsely claimed to have survived a 2017 school shooting in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, where he said he lost his best friend, brother, and others. The Dallas School District and local police have confirmed that no such shooting has ever occurred at Dallas High School. Polachek made these claims while speaking at a February gun safety rally in Kentucky organized by Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action, groups affiliated with Everytown for Gun Safety. Everytown condemned Polachek's falsehoods, emphasizing that he is not an active volunteer and that his fabricated story disrespects actual survivors of gun violence. The organization is reviewing its grassroots protocols to prevent similar incidents.
