Nottingham Forest Plans Stadium Expansion, Housing, £2.6M Sports Zone Upgrade

Nottingham Forest is undertaking major redevelopment projects to enhance sports facilities and its stadium. The Forest Recreation Ground sports facilities are set for a £2.6 million upgrade, including extending the Forest Pavilion, installing new floodlighting, fencing, and replacing the artificial pitch with a 3G surface, improving accessibility and reducing environmental impact. Meanwhile, plans to redevelop the City Ground stadium have progressed after years of planning challenges, with a proposal to demolish and replace the Peter Taylor Stand with a new 10,000-seat stand, increasing stadium capacity to 35,000. The stadium redevelopment, estimated to cost up to £130 million, includes improved infrastructure and potential construction of 169 apartments nearby. Rushcliffe Borough Council is expected to decide on the stadium plans soon, marking the first major stadium upgrade since 1996. Both projects reflect Nottingham Forest's commitment to enhancing community sports facilities and modernizing their football venue.
