Patriots Retain Jacoby Brissett as Starter

Mayo emphasized Brissett's toughness, dependability, and leadership, citing the need to protect Maye from the team's struggling offensive infrastructure, particularly a weak offensive line. Brissett has completed 60.4% of his passes for 536 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, but has faced significant pressure, being sacked 15 times and taking numerous hits. While Mayo acknowledges Brissett's mistakes, including a costly pick-6 in the recent loss to the 49ers, he believes Brissett is the best option for now.
