Border Patrol Agent Facing Felony Charges Dies in Southern California
Isaiah Anthony Hodgson, a 29-year-old U.S. Border Patrol agent, died in late August 2025 while facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to an incident in Long Beach, California. Hodgson was accused of being intoxicated and armed with a handgun when he entered a women’s restroom at a Shoreline Village restaurant, approached a woman, and was subsequently asked to leave by security. When Long Beach police officers arrived, he resisted arrest and engaged in a physical altercation, injuring one officer. Hodgson pleaded not guilty to charges including resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer, and carrying a loaded firearm in public, with a potential prison sentence of up to seven years. His death occurred just days after a court appearance and is under investigation, with no foul play suspected so far. The incident and Hodgson’s actions drew criticism from law enforcement officials emphasizing that no one is above the law, regardless of position or badge.
