Passenger Thwarts Hijack Attempt on Volaris Flight

Two alarming incidents involving flight disturbances have recently occurred, highlighting the courage of passengers and crew. In the first case, Kedus Yacob Damtew was arrested on a United Airlines flight for aggressively confronting a flight attendant, allegedly pinning her against a door and chasing her down the aisle, leading to potential charges of interfering with crew duties and a possible 20-year prison sentence. Meanwhile, on a Volaris flight from Guanajuato to Tijuana, a 31-year-old man, identified as Mario, attempted to hijack the plane, threatening a flight attendant and demanding to divert to San Diego. Passengers, notably one named Jesus, intervened to calm the situation, ultimately preventing a tragedy and enabling an emergency landing in Guadalajara. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody, while all passengers were reported safe. Both airlines have emphasized passenger safety and are cooperating with legal proceedings against the suspects.
