Postal Service Postmaster Indicted for Assault

Gabriel Ekram Pagabe Ali, a 47-year-old U.S. Postal Service postmaster in Teaneck, New Jersey, has been arrested and indicted on charges of sexually assaulting a female postal worker in November 2022. The indictment, unsealed recently, includes violations of federal civil rights, as Ali is accused of groping the victim and forcibly pulling her into his office and a bathroom while she resisted. If convicted, he faces a maximum of three years for the civil rights violation and eight years for the assault, totaling up to 11 years in prison. The incident occurred while both were on duty, and the victim was working under Ali's supervision at the time.
