Stanley Recalls Mugs for Lid Safety Hazard

Stanley is recalling 2.6 million Switchback and Trigger Action travel mugs due to a burn hazard caused by the lids detaching when exposed to heat and torque. The recall was announced after 91 reports of lid detachment worldwide, leading to 38 burn injuries, including two in the U.S., with 11 cases requiring medical attention. The affected mugs, sold from June 2016 through December 2024 at major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, are available in 12-, 16-, and 20-ounce sizes and various colors. Customers are advised to stop using the mugs and contact Stanley for a free replacement lid. The recall is conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, highlighting Stanley's commitment to product improvement and consumer safety.
