Cadillac Names Graeme Lowdon Team Principal
Doug Duchardt has left his position as president of Spire Motorsports to join TWG Group as Chief Performance Officer of Motorsports, enhancing TWG's leadership as it prepares to enter various racing series, including a new Cadillac Formula One team set to debut in 2026. TWG has recently appointed Graeme Lowdon, former team principal of Virgin/Marussia, as the new principal for the Cadillac F1 team, following the restructuring of the organization under Dan Towriss after Michael Andretti stepped back. Lowdon brings extensive experience from both Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship, and he expressed eagerness to lead a team committed to racing excellence. As Spire Motorsports restructures, it has also made significant hires to bolster its performance, including new technical leadership. The Cadillac F1 team will initially lease engines from Ferrari until they can develop their own by 2028. This expansion marks a significant step for General Motors in the competitive landscape of motorsports.
