Marina Alex Retires from LPGA Tour

Marina Alex has officially announced her retirement from the LPGA Tour following a tied 12th place finish at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida. The two-time tournament winner, who debuted on the LPGA Tour in 2013, concluded her career with earnings totaling $5 million, including $720,000 this season. In her final round, Alex shot a 6-under-par 66, tying with Jennifer Kupcho, Celine Boutier, and Jin Young Ko, while Jeeno Thitikul claimed the victory. Reflecting on her decision, Alex expressed the emotional difficulty of leaving a sport that has defined her for 11 years, stating, "It's always hard to say goodbye... change is never easy." She joins a growing list of retired players this year, including Lexi Thompson and Ally Ewing, as well as notable names like Catriona Matthew and So Yeon Ryu.
