Ant International, AlipayHK, and Malaysia’s TNG eWallet have launched the Digital Wallet Guardian Partnership to enhance the security of digital payments amid rising fraud in the Asia Pacific region, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of global digital wallet spending and 42% of global fraud cases. The partnership focuses on technology innovation, knowledge sharing, and stakeholder engagement, including workshops and awareness campaigns to educate users and merchants on fraud prevention. Central to the initiative is the deployment of Alipay+ EasySafePay 360, an AI-powered solution that reduces account takeover fraud by up to 90% through real-time risk modeling and privacy-preserving computing. EasySafePay also offers a Money-Back Guarantee for unauthorized transactions with an AI-accelerated claims process, enhancing user trust and operational efficiency. Asia’s high digital wallet adoption has led to 15% of wallet accounts being compromised in 2023, with account takeovers rising 28%, making these security measures critical. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to securing the rapidly growing digital payment ecosystem in Asia, protecting users’ funds and data while supporting merchants.
