Susanne Bier to Direct Practical Magic Sequel

Warner Bros. is in discussions with acclaimed filmmaker Susanne Bier to direct the sequel to the 1998 cult classic, Practical Magic, featuring the return of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in their original roles as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens. Bier, known for her work on Netflix's Bird Box and HBO's The Undoing, has previously collaborated with both stars, making her a fitting choice for the project. Original screenwriter Akiva Goldsman is also returning to pen the sequel, while Bullock, Kidman, and Denise Di Novi are set to produce. The film promises to stay true to the story that fans originally loved, drawing from Alice Hoffman's books without reinventing the wheel. Although a release date has not been announced, the sequel aims to capture the magical blend of romance and drama that characterized the original film.
