Florida Man Charged in NYSE Bomb Plot

Harun Abdul-Malik Yener, a 30-year-old man from Coral Springs, Florida, was arrested for allegedly plotting to bomb the New York Stock Exchange. The FBI began investigating Yener in February after receiving a tip about bomb-making schematics found in a storage unit, which contained timers, circuit boards, and other components for explosives. Yener reportedly expressed a desire to 'reboot' the U.S. government through this attack, indicating he believed it would resonate with the public. He had engaged with undercover FBI agents, revealing his intentions to detonate the bomb around Thanksgiving and even recorded a message intended for NBC News following the attack. Yener had a history of extremist ideologies, including past attempts to join groups like ISIS and the Proud Boys, which were unsuccessful. He is currently detained awaiting trial.
