Hunter Helps Capture Fugitive in Michigan

A 28-year-old fugitive from Battle Creek, Michigan, was apprehended on the first day of firearm deer hunting season after a hunter encountered him in Emmett Township and alerted authorities. The fugitive, involved in a hit-and-run incident earlier, had repeatedly rammed a vehicle carrying his girlfriend, leading to a multi-car crash and his subsequent flight into the woods. Unaware of the man's fugitive status, the hunter noticed him suspiciously eyeing an ATV and reported the encounter to the police. Thanks to the hunter's vigilance, Michigan State Police were able to arrest the man without incident. He now faces multiple charges, including assault with a vehicle, and is being held in Calhoun County Jail.
