Vallejo Police Arrest Suspect After Multiple Shootings

Two women suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in a Saturday night shooting on Fairgrounds Drive in Vallejo. Vallejo Police, aided by several local and state agencies and a California Highway Patrol helicopter, responded quickly, providing first aid to one victim and learning the second had already arrived at a hospital. The CHP Air Unit helped track a vehicle fleeing the scene, leading officers to arrest Marquese Alvin Roberts, 35, after he was seen hiding a firearm in nearby bushes. Roberts, who had an outstanding warrant and is a felon, was booked on multiple felony charges including being in possession of an unregistered gun. Vallejo Police Chief Jason Ta condemned the gun violence and commended the collaboration among agencies that led to the swift arrest. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to seek more information about the incident.
