Modi Meets 'Lakhpati Didis' in Jalgaon

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently praised the 'Lakhpati Didis' of Maharashtra, women who have achieved an annual income of at least Rs 1 lakh through self-help groups (SHGs), highlighting their entrepreneurial spirit and financial independence. During his interaction, Modi announced a Rs 2,500 crore revolving fund and Rs 5,000 crore in bank loans to further support these women, with a goal to elevate three crore women to similar financial status. The program aims to empower women across India, emphasizing the importance of financial literacy and sustainable livelihoods. District Collector Dr. S. Venkateswar noted the ambition to transform the financial landscape for women in SHGs, aiming for millionaire status for all members. Additionally, Modi addressed the recent Nepal bus tragedy, expressing condolences for the loss of lives from Jalgaon. The initiative has already empowered one crore women, and the government continues to strive for broader inclusion and support.
