Prime Video Orders Live-Action Life Is Strange Series

Amazon Prime Video has ordered a live-action adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game franchise Life Is Strange, with Charlie Covell, known for The End of the F***ing World, serving as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. The series, produced by Amazon MGM Studios in partnership with Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and LuckyChap, will follow Max, a photography student who discovers she can rewind time after saving her best friend Chloe, leading them to investigate a mysterious disappearance and confront a life-or-death choice. The adaptation has been praised by producers and partners as a culturally resonant project, with Square Enix and Story Kitchen emphasizing the franchise's dedicated fanbase and significance beyond gaming. LuckyChap, co-founded by Margot Robbie, expressed enthusiasm for working with Covell on this project. The series will stream exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories, joining other video game adaptations on the platform such as Fallout and Tomb Raider. Life Is Strange has been a major success since its 2015 debut, with over 20 million players and multiple sequels and spin-offs.
