Trans Woman Charged with Rape Maddison Wilson Dies Before Trial

Maddison Wilson, a 37-year-old trans woman, died before her scheduled court appearance to face multiple charges of rape and sexual assault against children. She was set to appear at Southampton Crown Court after previously attending a magistrates’ court hearing. The charges included allegations of raping a girl under 13 and causing a girl aged five to engage in sexual activity, as well as sexual assault against a three-year-old boy. Wilson was found deceased on February 14, with preliminary reports indicating hanging as the cause of death, although it is not being treated as suspicious. The prosecutor confirmed in court that the case would be discontinued due to her death. A full inquest is expected to be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding her passing.
