Norris Takes Pole at Belgian GP, Hamilton Out Early
Lando Norris secured pole position for the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, narrowly beating his McLaren teammate and championship leader Oscar Piastri by 0.085 seconds, bringing both drivers level on pole positions for the season. Norris is aiming for his third consecutive race victory and now trails Piastri by nine points in the standings. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc will start third, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who won the sprint race earlier in the weekend, in fourth. Williams' Alex Albon and Mercedes' George Russell round out the top six. Lewis Hamilton, driving for Mercedes, was eliminated in Q1 for the second day in a row after a track limits violation and will start 16th. Rain is forecast for Sunday's race, adding unpredictability to the upcoming Grand Prix.
