Kelvin Banks Jr. Finalist for Lombardi Award

Kelvin Banks Jr., a senior offensive lineman for the Texas Longhorns, has been named a finalist for the Lombardi Award, which honors the top college football lineman, and is also a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy. The Lombardi Award ceremony will take place on December 11, while the Outland Trophy winner will be announced on December 12. Banks, who has started in 37 games, has received multiple national honors this season, including SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week and Outland Trophy's National Player of the Week. Under his leadership, the Texas offense ranks highly in multiple categories, including 9th in passing efficiency and 12th in passing offense. If he wins the Lombardi Award, Banks would be the fourth Longhorn to receive this honor, joining past winners from 1981, 1984, and 2008. Texas football continues to rely on Banks as they prepare to face the Kentucky Wildcats this Saturday.
