Travis Ingram Sentenced to Life for 2023 Rapper Murder

Travis Ingram Jr., a 23-year-old from Canton, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 21 years for the murder of Columbus rapper Charles Smith, known as B-Att. Ingram pleaded guilty to murder and multiple counts of felonious assault stemming from the shooting incident on January 29, 2023, at The Doll House nightclub, where Smith had just performed. Armed with a Glock pistol equipped with a 50-round drum magazine, Ingram shot Smith, resulting in his death and injuring three bystanders. Ingram was arrested in February 2023, nearly a month after the incident, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service. Following the shooting, the Columbus City Attorney filed a lawsuit to close the nightclub until safety measures were improved, leading to its temporary shutdown. The venue has since reopened under stricter security regulations mandated by the court.
