Laitia Moceidreke Joins NFL International Program
Laitia Moceidreke, a former NRL player, is set to join Wallabies star Jordan Petaia in the NFL’s International Player Pathway (IPP) program, aiming to make a successful transition from rugby league to American football. Both Moceidreke and Petaia will participate in a 10-week development camp in Florida, similar to the program that propelled Jordan Mailata to the Philadelphia Eagles. Moceidreke, who has limited rugby league experience with just one game for the Cowboys, will trial as a tight end or defensive end, while Petaia will also pursue a tight end position. The IPP has previously seen 41 international players sign with NFL teams, though only six have secured spots on active rosters. This year's intake includes additional athletes from rugby and basketball backgrounds, highlighting the growing interest in cross-sport transitions. The Pro Day event in March will provide an opportunity for scouts from all 32 NFL teams to evaluate the participants.
