Zoe Ball Departs BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show

Zoe Ball has announced her departure from the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show after six successful years, with her last episode airing on December 20. She will be succeeded by Scott Mills, who will transition from his afternoon slot, marking a significant schedule change for the station. Ball expressed her pride in Mills, stating he has been a close friend and that hosting the breakfast show has always been his dream. In addition to Mills taking over the breakfast show, Trevor Nelson will fill Mills' previous afternoon slot starting January 2025, and DJ Spoony will expand his show to four nights a week. Ball mentioned her desire to focus on family while still remaining part of the Radio 2 team, hinting at new opportunities in the future. The changes come as Radio 2, the UK's most listened to radio station, aims to invigorate its programming for its 13.3 million weekly listeners.
