Jhalawar School Roof Collapse Kills Seven Children

At least seven children were killed and over two dozen injured, some critically, when the roof of a classroom at Piplodi Government School in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district collapsed during the morning assembly. The incident occurred with around 40 people present, and approximately 35 students were initially trapped under the debris before rescue operations began. Eyewitnesses reported that students had warned teachers about falling stones from the roof prior to the collapse, but their concerns were reportedly ignored. The disaster is believed to have been caused by heavy rainfall and the poor condition of the building. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma called the event 'heart-wrenching,' ordered immediate medical care for the injured, and authorities have launched an official inquiry into the cause.
