Minnesota Man Arrested in Iowa After Hanska Fatal Double Shooting
A 45-year-old Minnesota man, Randy Thomas Zimmerman, has been charged with second-degree murder after a double homicide in Hanska, Minnesota, where a 32-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were fatally shot. The incident began when a boy called 911 early Sunday morning, reporting that his mom's ex-boyfriend had broken into the house and shot his mother. Zimmerman fled the scene carrying a long gun but was apprehended about 340 miles away in Iowa after a coordinated effort by multiple county sheriff's offices and the Iowa State Patrol. The suspect's brother reportedly confessed to the killings in a text message. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances, and resources for domestic violence support have been highlighted for those in need. The victims' identities have not been released, and the case remains under active investigation.
