Seven Charged in Nationwide Burglary Ring Targeting Athletes

Seven Chilean nationals have been charged in connection with a series of high-profile burglaries targeting professional athletes, including NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow. The group, part of a 'South American Theft Group,' is accused of stealing nearly $1.5 million worth of jewelry, cash, and designer items from the homes of these athletes while they were away at games. Specific incidents include burglaries at Mahomes' and Kelce's homes in October 2024, as well as a break-in at Burrow's residence in December 2024. The suspects reportedly used wooded areas for concealment during the break-ins and were found taking selfies with stolen goods. Prosecutors have outlined the organized nature of this criminal operation, highlighting that it involved multiple athletes from both the NFL and NBA. If convicted, the men could face up to 10 years in prison for their crimes.
