Ohio Senator Proposes Online Casino Bill

Ohio Senator Niraj Antani has introduced a bill that seeks to legalize online casino gaming, including online poker and slots, in the state. This 146-page legislation aims to provide Ohioans with access to internet casino gambling through licensed mobile apps, reflecting the state's evolving gaming landscape after the successful introduction of sports betting. Antani argues that many residents lack easy access to physical casinos and should have the opportunity to engage in this form of entertainment legally, moving it out of the black market. However, the bill's progress is uncertain, as the Ohio legislature enters a limited lame-duck session, and Antani is facing term limits. The legislation proposes establishing the Ohio Casino Control Commission as the regulatory body for online gaming, with a structure for permits and fees.
