National Gallery Offers Unique Sleepover Experience Amidst Art

To celebrate its 200th anniversary and the reopening of the refurbished Sainsbury Wing, the National Gallery in London is offering a unique prize draw for a sleepover among its renowned art collection. For the first time, a member of the public will be able to spend the night in a luxury bed located on a bridge connecting the Sainsbury Wing to the main gallery, surrounded by over 1,000 masterpieces. The winner will enjoy an exclusive dinner for two at the new restaurant Locatelli, followed by a private tour of the exhibition 'CC Land: The Wonder of Art,' which showcases the evolution of Western painting from the 13th to the 20th century. Entries for the contest, open to those over 18 who subscribe to the gallery's newsletter, will be accepted until April 28, with the winner announced shortly after. The sleepover experience will take place on the night of May 9, culminating in a breakfast hamper and private access to the gallery before it opens to the public on May 10. This initiative aims to enhance visitor engagement with the gallery's storied collection and its latest curatorial developments.
