Earthshot Prize in Cape Town

Prince William has commenced a four-day visit to South Africa focused on environmental innovation, coinciding with the Earthshot Prize awards on Wednesday, which will grant £1 million to five winners for their environmental projects. His trip includes engagements with young environmentalists and local communities, emphasizing his commitment to climate change and biodiversity. The visit aims to inspire youth leadership in climate action, with a new initiative involving 120 young leaders from Africa and Asia. William's Earthshot Prize, launched in 2020, seeks to highlight and support innovative solutions to environmental challenges. He will also meet with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and participate in various local activities, including a rugby coaching session. The week-long event includes discussions on sustainable development and a star-studded awards ceremony hosted by Billy Porter.
