Chinese startup Unitree Robotics has unveiled the R1 humanoid robot priced at an unprecedented $5,900, a significant reduction compared to most existing humanoid robots that cost tens of thousands of dollars. The R1 weighs 25 kilograms, stands about four feet tall, and features 26 joints enabling it to perform agile moves like cartwheels, handstands, punches, and spin kicks, alongside multimodal AI capabilities including voice and image recognition.
