Athletics Submit Plans for Las Vegas Stadium

The Oakland Athletics are moving closer to securing a $1.5 billion, 33,000-seat enclosed ballpark on the Las Vegas Strip, with plans to potentially open for the 2028 baseball season. Renderings reveal a facility that will include field-level seating, suites, and a new integrated resort with a casino and hotel, proposed to be developed by Bally's Corp. The Las Vegas Stadium Authority is set to present nearly finalized agreements regarding the ballpark's development, lease, and funding during their upcoming meeting, with a vote planned for December 5. Financing includes $380 million in public funds and significant contributions from the A's ownership. The stadium's construction is contingent on the approval of a comprehensive financing plan, which is expected to be confirmed in December. Additionally, the creation of a Sports and Entertainment Improvement District will facilitate the repayment of public bonds for the project.
