Missing Raleigh Teen Found Dead in Neuse River

Jaylen Green, a 16-year-old autistic teenager from Raleigh, was found dead in the Neuse River in Kinston after going missing during a family gathering at Neuseway Nature Park. Despite being monitored by an adult, Jaylen, who loved water but could not swim, wandered away and was later seen on video entering the river. His body was discovered on Sunday afternoon by divers from the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office following a large-scale, multi-agency search. Authorities and community leaders expressed condolences and gratitude for the extensive search efforts, highlighting the tragedy's significant impact. The family has established a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses. The Nature Center and Ellis Planetarium remain temporarily closed in response to the incident.
