Cal Raleigh set a new American League record with 38 home runs before the All-Star break, surpassing the previous mark jointly held by Reggie Jackson and Chris Davis, during the Seattle Mariners' sweep of the Detroit Tigers. Raleigh’s achievement leaves him one shy of Barry Bonds’ all-time pre-break major league record of 39 homers. The Mariners secured the sweep with an 8-4 comeback win on Sunday, featuring back-to-back ninth-inning home runs from Jorge Polanco and Cole Young.
