Strictly Presents Tess Daly, Claudia Winkleman Made MBEs for Broadcasting

TV presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have been honoured with MBEs in the King’s Birthday Honours for their services to broadcasting. Daly, who has co-presented Strictly Come Dancing since 2004, was deeply moved by the recognition, revealing the acceptance letter was almost missed due to being sent to the wrong address. Winkleman, also a presenter of the hit show The Traitors and winner of a 2023 BAFTA for Entertainment Performance, expressed gratitude and humorously vowed to celebrate the honour by dancing a paso doble with Daly. Both have had extensive careers in television and radio, with Winkleman also serving as a trustee of the British Museum and patron of Child Bereavement UK. Their joint recognition comes amid recent challenges for the Strictly team, including allegations of inappropriate behaviour, yet their contributions to British broadcasting remain celebrated. The honours highlight their long-standing impact and dedication to the industry.
