Henderson Police Arrest Diamante Burton for Cowabunga Bay May 30 Shooting

Diamante Burton, 25, was arrested by Henderson police with the assistance of the FBI Criminal Apprehension Team in connection with a May 30 shooting at Cowabunga Bay Water Park that injured one man. The incident began with a large fight at the water park that escalated into a secondary altercation involving gunfire, leaving the victim with multiple gunshot wounds and hospitalized with unknown injuries. Burton faces multiple charges including attempted murder with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of discharging a gun where a person might be endangered, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. The arrest occurred near the 6000 block of Boulder Highway on June 10, and Burton is currently held at the Henderson Detention Center. Authorities confirmed the shooting was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Law enforcement continues to investigate and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
