Airlink Suspends 16 Flights Across Southern Africa
Airlink suspended 16 flights across South Africa, Mozambique and Zambia after Air Traffic Navigation Services (ATNS) suspended instrument flight procedures (IFPs) and amid airport maintenance that requires South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) certification. Affected routes include major hubs and regional airports such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, Livingstone, Durban, Vilankulo and several smaller airports including Kruger Mpumalanga, Pietermaritzburg, Richards Bay and Mthatha. The suspensions have caused cancellations, delays and route changes, stranding some passengers. Airlink is advising travelers to check flight statuses, seek rebooking assistance and is activating contingency plans, while stressing the disruption is beyond its control. Officials warn disruptions are likely to continue until the CAA certifies restored procedures and outstanding maintenance is completed.
