Shelby County Man Charged Kidnapping While Out on Bond

Jadea Gibson, 25, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment after allegedly forcing a woman he was on a date with to drive to Frayser against her will before she escaped by jumping out of the moving vehicle in Shelby County, Tennessee. The incident occurred in the Northaven area, and Gibson was apprehended by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office's Fugitive Apprehension Team following an investigation. Notably, Gibson was already out on a $10,000 bond for a previous kidnapping charge at the time of the new alleged offense. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit quickly identified Gibson as the suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest. Officials expressed concern over Gibson committing a similar crime while out on bond, emphasizing the danger he posed to the community. Gibson was arrested without incident and remains charged with both kidnapping and false imprisonment.
