Arizona Advances, BYU Eliminated in Big 12 Baseball
Arizona baseball advanced to the Big 12 Tournament semifinals by defeating BYU 4-1 in the quarterfinals at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The Wildcats took an early lead with back-to-back home runs by Mason White and Adonys Guzman, each hitting opposite foul poles. Pitcher Owen Kramkowski threw six shutout innings for Arizona, and Tony Pluta earned his 12th save of the season. BYU was eliminated from the tournament and ended its season at 28-27, despite previously upsetting Arizona State with a combined shutout from pitchers Justis Reiser and Ashton Johnson. Arizona had secured the No. 4 seed after a series win over Houston to close the regular season. The Wildcats will next face No. 1 seed West Virginia in the semifinals.
