Finnebrogue, a family-owned food manufacturer based in County Down, Northern Ireland, has been acquired by Sofina Foods, a leading Canadian and European food company. Established in 1991 by Christine and Denis Lynn, Finnebrogue employs around 1,200 people and produces a variety of meat and plant-based products, including outdoor-bred pork, sausages, rashers, ham, and natural-ingredient ranges free from artificial additives. The acquisition aims to bolster Sofina Foods' ambitious expansion plans, complementing its existing pork and seafood divisions across the UK and Europe, where it employs over 9,000 people across 27 sites. Both companies share a culture of excellence, discipline, and integrity, with Sofina Foods committed to upholding Finnebrogue's legacy and continuing its growth. Finnebrogue’s sites will remain operational, contributing to sustainable, high-quality food production within Sofina’s distribution network.
