Indiana Inspector General Files 10-Count Ethics Complaint Against Former Braun Cabinet Member

Jennifer-Ruth Green, Indiana Gov. Mike Braun's former secretary of public safety and head of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, resigned in September 2025 amid multiple ethics accusations. The Indiana inspector general filed a 10-count complaint alleging Green engaged in political activity on state time, misused state property including state vehicles and travel cards for personal and political purposes, and retaliated against employees who reported her misconduct. Green was also accused of ghost employment by directing state employees to work on her political Facebook account and perform personal tasks during work hours. Additional allegations included making derogatory comments to employees, threatening demotion or termination, and inappropriate workplace behavior such as touching female employees without consent. Green denied most allegations, calling them politically motivated, but admitted to limited personal use of state vehicles and undisclosed financial relationships with employees. Her resignation followed internal investigations and warnings that substantiated allegations could lead to sanctions or termination, with Green now reportedly considering another congressional run.
