Marriott, Truman Plan Three Hotels, Twin Towers Calgary
Truman, in partnership with Marriott International and Louson Investments, is spearheading a major $1.2-billion mixed-use development in Calgary's Culture + Entertainment District that will include three new hotels: W Calgary, JW Marriott Calgary, and an Autograph Collection Hotel on Stampede Park. The W Calgary and JW Marriott Calgary towers, set to open between 2029 and 2030, will be among the tallest residential buildings in Western Canada, featuring over 400 hotel rooms and 360 residences combined, alongside amenities like spas, restaurants, meeting spaces, rooftop bars, and private entrances for residents. This project aims to significantly boost the local economy by creating construction and long-term employment opportunities, enhancing tourism, and supporting local businesses through increased visitor spending. The developments are expected to reshape Calgary’s downtown skyline and elevate the city's hospitality offerings under the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. City officials and developers highlight the importance of this private investment as a catalyst for Calgary’s vibrant growth amid ongoing public infrastructure projects in the district. Pending city approvals, construction is projected to begin soon, with phased openings aligned from 2028 through 2030.
