Kratos Begins $50 Million Hypersonic Facility Construction in Indiana

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has commenced construction on a $50 million Indiana Payload Integration Facility (IPIF) in Crane, Indiana, aimed at enhancing hypersonic systems development. The 68,000-square-foot facility will support the Multi-Service Advanced Capabilities Hypersonic Testbed (MACH-TB) program, facilitating rapid testing and integration of hypersonic payloads. This investment is projected to create over 100 high-tech jobs with an average salary exceeding $80,000 and is expected to be operational by the end of 2026. The facility will also complement Kratos' recent collaboration with RAFAEL Advanced Defense Systems, which includes the establishment of Prometheus Energetics for solid rocket motor production in Bloomfield, Indiana. State officials view this development as a significant boost for Indiana's role in advanced manufacturing and national defense.
