Uber Driver Charged with Indecent Assault in Montco

Robert Corcoran, a 61-year-old Uber driver from West Chester, Pennsylvania, has been charged with indecent assault and harassment after allegedly groping a female passenger on February 10. The incident occurred after Corcoran picked up the woman and her male friend, dropping the friend off first, and then requesting the woman to sit in the front seat. After she ended a FaceTime call with her sister, Corcoran allegedly groped her and made lewd comments, followed her to her home, and attempted to hug and kiss her. The victim's quick thinking, including documenting details and contacting her sister, aided police in identifying and charging Corcoran. He turned himself in on March 6 and was released on $25,000 bail with conditions to have no contact with the victim. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele emphasized the importance of safety precautions for passengers using ride-sharing services.
